NOTICE OF CALL OF SPECIAL REFERENDUM ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that the City of Porterdale, Georgia, will hold a Special Referendum Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not the City Council of the City of Porterdale shall be authorized to permit and regulate package sales by retailers of malt beverages, wine, and distilled spirits on Sunday between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
The ballot will read as follows:
[ ] Yes Shall the governing authority of Porterdale, Georgia
Be authorized to permit and regulate package sales by
Retailers of malt beverages, wine, and distilled spirits
[ ] No on Sundays between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and
11:30 p.m.?
Registration books are now open to register any voters and will remain open through close of business on October 7, 2024, at the Newton County Board of Elections and Registration Office.
The polling place for the Referendum Special Election for those electors registered to vote in the Referendum Special Election will be where the elector regularly votes in municipal elections, and the polls will be open for Advanced Voting Oct 15-19, Oct 21-26, and Oct 28-Nov 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Election Day, Nov 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
